Self-Improvement…At your pace

“Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson.

It’s great to see so many people beginning and continuing their journey of self-improvement – Let’s face it Spring seems to be the time for rejuvenation. Whether your goals be fitness, financial, wellness or spiritual goals, or even a holistic approach to all of these areas, it can be easy to become impatient. In a society where instant gratification has become normal, we want results NOW!

We sometimes put unrealistic pressure on ourselves to reach our goals. However, these are the things in life that we can’t buy online. We can’t order them to be delivered. We have to work towards these goals ourselves, step by step, with each step being an integral part of our learning.

We’ve all been told before that taking the first step is the hardest part, but sometimes each step can be equally as difficult, and other times they can be backward steps. That’s okay.

They are all steps on your unique journey, which in turn, makes up your story. You will learn along the way about how to achieve your goals but most importantly, you will learn about yourself and hopefully to enjoy the process.

So perhaps it’s time to go with the tide instead of trying to swim against it. Recognise your accomplishments so far, take a deep breath, and take the next step, however small it may be.

Growth, like evolution, takes time and patience and there is no better place to witness this than in nature, and she is majestically beautiful.

Be kind to yourself because at this very moment, you are enough.
